Hope everyone is doing good and staying safe.
As Mercedes said, we did the cover shoot for #3 yesterday and it's looking absolutely killer. Our friend/stylist/photographer Marie knocked it out the fucking park with sprucing us up so big shout-out to her and to Kate for being a massive help with everything also. It was the best seeing my girls too 🖤
We're just going for a pretty straightforward cover this time. We had a ton of ideas (including some WILD retro sci-fi thing, complete with Kirby crackle - maybe one day!) but it felt like we were trying too hard to better the last 2, so in the end we just decided on a straight to the point band photo (and as it turns out, us looking fucking fantastic, if I do say so myself). Also, it saves me staying up late tearing my hair out doing artwork for once, so I'll take that!
So yeah, nearly at the finish line for #3 - real fucking excited!
Not gonna lie, on a personal level this has been a pretty awful week, but I at least put some of that time spent not leaving my apartment to good use and started work on some PEN-15 t-shirt designs. No promises, but we'll see. And thank you again to Mercedes and Suze(!) for picking things up on here this past week.
Have also started reading The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir. Did not notice the edition I'd ordered is nearly 800 pages of pretty teeny print, so will have to see how my dyslexic ass fares with that one... Maximum effort, though.*
